Riley Cote is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger and is currently an assistant coach with the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). He played four National Hockey League seasons (NHL) seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers and was mainly known as an Enforcer.
Throughout Riley’s professional hockey career he established an identity of being a rough, tough physical presence. A throwback of the broad street bully era. He was also just as known for his work off the ice in the community and working with different charitable causes. Riley’s true passion was to help people in any way possible but more specifically, to educate people on health and nutrition. In 2011 Riley decided to create his own foundation, taking his passion to the next level with the Hemp Heals™ Music Festival.

The Pennsylvania Hemp Industry Council seeks to accelerate the return of the Industrial Hemp Crop to the Pennsylvania agricultural landscape. To effectively achieve our aim of broad adoption of Industrial Hemp as a rotational crop by farmers, we will build a vital and effective collaboration of agencies, individuals and the general public.
Since retiring in 2010, Riley has completely changed his lifestyle and has since embraced the natural process of healing, optimum nutrition, and a holistic lifestyle. His focus now is to educat the public on clean agricultural practices and promoting the industrial hemp plant as a viable, renewable, and extremely useful resource. Without a doubt, hemp is the cornerstone to a healthier and sustainable future not just in America but the world.
Ashley Cote: "If you told me 10 years ago that I'd be in the middle of a field participating in one of the first HEMP Harvests in about 80 years I'd tell you that your CRAZY! But here we are witnessing history take place in PA! Today marks 95 days since the seeds were planted and some of the stalks are now over 10 feet tall! It's truly amazing! Whats even better is the smell emanating from the fields. It's purely intoxicating! We also sampled and harvested some seeds from the crop. Super tasty! With over 25,000 different uses the possibilities of hemp industry are endless!"
